North Ealing Primary School
North Ealing Primary School was originally constructed in the early 1900’s. In more recent times (1970’s) the school was expanded utilising the construction of poor quality prefab and portable buildings. In 2002 the school and London Borough of Ealing entered into a project to relocate all the portable buildings and the demolition of the prefabs to enable the construction of “high spec” school buildings.
The enabling works included the diversion and renewal of supplies to the remaining buildings and installation of a new 400-amp head and a custom-built switch panel. All the works were fitted into a very short programme (school holiday’s) and were completed ahead of programme.
The second phase included the construction of a nine-classroom block complete with a large kitchen area with cooking facilities for numerous school halls, toilets and administration area. The contract included all of the following: switch panel construction and installation, main and sub-main cable installations, distribution, general lighting and power, emergency lighting systems, C.C.T.V and security systems, access control and entry systems and an analogue addressable fire alarm system.
The final phase involved the refurbishment of the existing Victorian building. |
